Shri Shantanu Dattatraya Paraswar

Shri Shantanu Dattatraya Paraswar is a Distinguished Scientist of DAE. He is B.E. (Mechanical) from Govt. College of Engineering, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Shri Paraswar joined 31st batch of BARC Training School (Orientation Course) and after successful completion of training, he has worked in Operations Section at MAPS and NAPS for getting license. Thereafter, he worked at KAPP-1&2 in various capacities such as Control Engineer, Asstt. Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Charge Engineer. He was the youngest Shift-charge Engineer in NPCIL at that time. He contributed during initial commissioning, 1st criticality and continuous operation of KAPS-1 for more than a year.

In the year 2002, Shri Paraswar was posted at TAPP-3&4 as Sr. Commissioning Engineer (TG & Water Systems) and contributed for effective, smooth and speedy commissioning of the systems. He is from the 1st Batch of Shift Charge Engineers to work during the initial operational phases of the 1st 540 MWe indigenous Nuclear Power Station. He worked in various capacities at TMS. He had contributed in implementation of various safety improvements and IT enabled in-house system developments for various processes resulting in safe, effective, continuous and reliable operation of TAPS-3&4. He is the recipient of NPCIL High Performance award for Special Contribution & Group Achievement Award (2 times). He was promoted as Outstanding Scientist in 2019.

After his posting to RR Site in Sept. 2020, Shri Paraswar worked in the capacities of Chief Superintendent, RAPS-5&6, Station Director, RAPS-1&2, RAPS-3&4. He was instrumental in safe, speedy and effective start of RAPS-2 after completion of part en-mass Boiler Hair Pin replacement (PEMBHR) work. His contribution for mobilization of resources & preparatory activities for smooth conduct of RAPS - 3 EMCCR / EMFR, as well as handling of various events is significant.

Shri Paraswar took over as ED (O-PHWR) from 1st November 2022. He was instrumental in bringing in enhancement of the performance review function at HQ for more structured interaction with Stations & at HQ. Also, the Regulatory interface & follow-up for post Fukushima upgrades has been strengthened by him. His effective oversight & monitoring has contributed in expediting commissioning of KAPS-4, timely completion of RAPS-3 EMCCR, hot conditioning & first approach to criticality of RAPP-7.

He has been appointed as Director (Operations) vide DAE letter dated 24th January 2025.
