Shri Rajesh Veeraraghavan
Director (Technical) with Additional charge - Chairman & Managing Director
Shri Rajesh Veeraraghavan is a Distinguished Scientist of Dept. of Atomic Energy. He is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate and is from 2nd batch of NPCIL training School in 1990. Subsequent to completion of one year training, he worked in three project sites - Kaiga 1&2 (PHWR 220 MW each), Tarapur Atomic Power Project 3&4 (PHWR 540 MW each) and Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (LWR 1000 MW each). In these projects, he was involved in activities pertaining to Design, Erection and Commissioning of different Systems, Structures and Components (SSC).
He played key role in identifying SSC’s for progressive indigenization/ localisation in Kudankulam Nuclear Project expansion units 3-6 (LWR 1000 MW each). In 2016, he established a group for procurement of the indigenized components of LWR. Since June 2022, as Executive Director (Procurement) he was associated with procurement of components required for existing and upcoming PHWR’s.
Shri Rajesh Veeraraghavan is appointed as Director (Technical) on the Board of NPCIL w.e.f. 27th June 2023. He is also a Member of the Board of Management of Heavy Water Board, Member of the Board of Management of Nuclear Fuel Complex, Member of the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology. He is also a member of Board of Directors of Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Ltd. and of Uranium Corporation of India Ltd.
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India (GOI) vide its letter no. 101(1)/2/2025/Power-Part-file/5944 dated May 19, 2026, received by NPCIL on May 20, 2026, has entrusted the additional/ current charge of CMD, NPCIL to Shri. V. Rajesh, Director (Technical) of NPCIL for a period of three months w.e.f. the date of vacancy arising out or until the post is filled on regular basis, whichever is earlier for handling the day-to-day functioning of the post of CMD, NPCIL. Accordingly, Shri V. Rajesh, Director (Technical), NPCIL (DIN 10216259) has assumed the charge on 01st June 2026.
